The practice of hypnosis is a self-regulating profession and its practitioners are not licensed by the state of Iowa. Practice Standards The services rendered by Greg States are held out to the public as non-therapeutic hypnotism, defined as the use of hypnosis to inculcate positive thinking and the capacity for self-hypnosis. Greg States does not represent these services as a form of healthcare or psychotherapy, and despite research to the contrary, by law he makes no health benefit claims for these services. A client has a right to refuse hypnosis services at any time. If a client desires any other type of services the client may seek such services at any time. A client has a right to know the expected duration of services, and may assert these rights without retaliation. Greg States is not a physician or a licensed healthcare provider and may not provide a medical diagnosis or recommend discontinuance of medically prescribed treatments, prescriptions, or medical advice from your family healthcare provider. If you desire a diagnosis, suspect you have a medical or psychological condition, or wish to start any new health program, you should first consult with your licensed family healthcare practitioner or a mental health professional. Redress: As a professional member of the National Guild of Hypnotists, and Certified Consulting Hypnotist, Greg States practices in accordance with their Code of Ethics and Standards. If you should have a complaint about his services or behavior that he cannot resolve for you personally, you may contact the National Guild of Hypnotists at P.O. Box 308, Merrimack, NH 03054-0308, (603) 429-9438, to seek redress. Services other than those provided by Greg States may be available to you, and you may locate such providers in the telephone book. Confidentiality: Greg States will not release any information to anyone without a written authorization from you, except as provided for by law. Approach: Non-therapeutic hypnotism is the independent use of the hypnotic arts and sciences to help clients inculcate positive thinking and the capacity for self-hypnosis to reach desired goals. Cancellation Policy: If you're unable to keep your appointment for any reason, please contact our office. The full fee will be charged for appointments broken or canceled without 24 hours notice. Unused sessions or credits are forfeited by the client if not used within one year.
